Ventout 2018 - The Heist
WHAT IS VENTOUT ABOUT?
This is a chance for Scouts with their “Big Red” (Pioneer Badge) to find out all about the fantastic activities in Venturers and to spend time talking to and mixing with Venturers.
REGISTRATION – It has changed this year
Applications for Ventout‘18 The Heist must be completed and ‘submitted’ online.
The application site is eventregistration.patroltent.com
Online applications will close at midnight on 26th October 2018. Cost is the same as last year, $30 per participant and an extra $10 if you want to participate in the boating. There is no charge for leaders but you must register.
Once you have ‘submitted’ your application, you then need to make payment via the online payment gateway.
ENSURE you bring your signed paperwork with you on the weekend.
You will receive emails as your application proceeds through the system, and remember at any time, you can contact the organiser Tasman McManis (Sydney North Region Commissioner Venturers) for assistance at Tasman.McManis@hotmail.com
Venturers and Scouts with their Big Red
Leaders & Rovers
· Must be registered as a Rover or hold an Adult Appointment in Scouts Australia NSW at the time of application and through till 4th November 2018.
· Is authorised to work with children by Scouts Australia NSW.
This will be similar to last year - There will teams, activities and points. Prizes will be awarded for the best team. There will also be prizes for the Unit/Troop with the “best dressed” campsite that looks the “Heist”.
Make up your own teams for the activities but there are rules: Teams of 8 to 10 Venturers and Scouts. There must be a minimum of 4 Scouts or 4 Venturers in each team. Select a team captain who can register your team with a list of the team members when you check in. If you haven’t recruited enough team members, we will link you up with other small teams.
Traditionally on Sunday morning there is battle between teams. This year there will be colour packs provided to add to the party atmosphere. Of course you can still bring your own dye packs and flower.
VENUE - CAMPING - FOOD
What is not changing? Same venue (Camp Ku-ring-gai) (Google Maps), same times. You can arrive after 5.00 PM on Friday November 2nd, or before 9.00 AM on Saturday 3rd when the action commences. Closing parade is 12.30 PM on Sunday 4th.
What about accommodation and food? Camping arrangements, tents etc are up to the Troop and their associated Venturer Unit, and their leaders. You must be prepared to cater for two lunches, one breakfast, and one evening meal plus snacks. Stoves only for cooking.
Do I need my uniform? Just your Scarf for opening and closing parades and travel to and from the camp. Don’t forget hats, sunscreen, insect repellent and clothing for swimming, boating, construction and muddy activities. And of course, all the usual kit for camping.
