“Hornsby Gang Show promotes the enjoyment, understanding and development of the performing arts in Sydney North Region through varying and engaging artistic experiences, by providing quality, diverse opportunities for all, inspiring participation in the creation, comprehension and appreciation of the arts.”
Amanda Muxlow – Group Leader of HGS
The Hornsby Gang Show has trained thousands of Scouts and Guides in all aspects of stagecraft, acting, singing, dancing and many behind the scene jobs and skills eg. lighting, sound, prop-building and dozens of others. As well as performing skills, the Gang Show aims to develop young people’s confidence and self-esteem. But above all, everyone has fun and a great time! There are around 100 members in the cast and over 250 crew behind the scenes in support departments. These include technical, backstage, set design, orchestra, catering, wardrobe, personnel, management, and many, many more.
Entry to the Hornsby Gang Show cast is through auditions, which are held each December. Weekly rehearsals commence from late February. Performances are held in the July school holidays.
