This activity is all about getting out and seeing the many wonderful parts of Australia most people will never see – both local and far away! Walks vary from short day walks to the more challenging night treks. There is a walk to suit everyone and every group.

Walks
The PEAK Team is looking to run a series of overnight Leader/Rover walking activities throughout the year. These are opportunities to build skills, develop experience, develop bushwalking planning skills and show competency in bushwalking.
Walk dates:
Walk Grades – Our walks are graded for a person of average fitness. If you can push a shopping trolley around “Big Fresh”, you can do an “easy walk”. If you run up stairs 2 at a time you are probably better than “medium” and if you regularly play an active sport or can jog for half an hour you will have no difficulty with the “hard” ones.
Bushwalking Team Meetings
Meetings are held at the Barra Brui Activities Hall, off Hunter Ave St Ives and commence at 7.00pm. Everyone is welcome whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned walker.
Dates:
Bushwalking “PEAK” Team Meeting
May 6 @ 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Emergency Beacons
The Region has four Emergency Beacons (SPOT brand) available for hire to members heading out into the wilderness.
Scouts NSW policy is that an electronic emergency locating device (eg. PLB) must be available on all activities more than one hour from emergency response.
Intended for use as a last resort and only in REAL emergencies, activating the beacon will alert emergency services, allow them to pinpoint your location and thus initiate rescue action.
Hire Charges
$20 for a weekend (4 days)
$40 for a week
