ELIGIBILITY
Venturers and Scouts with their Big Red
Leaders, Rovers & Adult Helpers
- Must be registered as a Rover, Adult Helper or hold an Adult Appointment in Scouts Australia NSW at the time of application.
- Is authorised to work with children by Scouts Australia NSW.
ACTIVITIES
This will be similar to previous years – There will teams, activities, and points. Prizes will be awarded for the best team. There will also be prizes for the Unit/Troop with the “best dressed” themed campsite.
Make up your own teams for the activities but there are rules: Teams of 8 to 10 Venturers and Scouts. There must be a minimum of 4 Scouts or 4 Venturers in each team. Select a team captain who can register your team with a list of the team members when you check in. If you haven’t recruited enough team members, we will link you up with other small teams.
Traditionally on Sunday morning there is battle between teams. This year there will be colour packs provided to add to the party atmosphere. Of course you can still bring your own dye packs and flower.
VENUE – CAMPING – FOOD
What is not changing? Same venue – Camp Ku-ring-gai or see Google Maps, same times. You can arrive after 5.00pm on Friday November 1st, or before 9.00am on Saturday 2nd, when the action commences. Closing parade is 12.30pm on Sunday 3rd.
What about accommodation and food? Camping arrangements, tents etc are up to the Troop and their associated Venturer Unit, and their leaders. You must be prepared to cater for two lunches, one breakfast, and one evening meal plus snacks. Stoves only for cooking.
Do I need my uniform? Just your scarf for opening and closing parades and travel to and from the camp. Don’t forget hats, sunscreen, insect repellent and clothing for swimming, construction and muddy activities. And of course, all the usual kit for camping.
