DESCRIPTION:Friday 16 August – 7pm to 9.30pm   \n\n\n\nSaturday 17 August – 8am to 4pm  \n\n\n\nSunday 18 August – 8am to 3pm Cost $30  \n\n\n\nNormanhurst Scout Hall\, Harris Rd\, Normanhurst  \n\n\n\nAll participants must be proficient in BASIC KNOTS AND HITCHES – reef knot\, sheet bend\, clove hitch\, rolling hitch. Registrations will open once the date is confirmed. \n\n\n\nThis is an express version of our normal Rigging & Rescue course which will consist of an online theory night. Significant pre-reading\, and an intensive weekend. The training sessions will start on the Friday evening. \n\n\n\nIf you want to build on your skills and work towards being able to take other people out abseiling then this is the workshop for you. Learn how to set up abseils\, rig for rescue and get yourself or others out of difficulty. This course aims to get you through the Trained Participant and Assistant Guide levels of the VET qualifications and can also be used to gain OAS qualifications. \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components. They will give you directions to yourcampsite.Only Leaders\, Joeys\, Youth Helpers and Adult Helpers will be allowed into the Campsite.Parents please note: If you are not a registered Adult Helper\, you are not allowed into the Campsite.This Camp is for Joeys only\, with no siblings able to come.Hoporee Finishes: 1:30pm Sunday 29th September. \n\n\n\nAll adults staying for even part of the camp must have a valid scout membership number from completing the A2 New Adult Helper registration with their Group\, NOTE – this process can take some time. DESCRIPTION:Monthly Rockcraft Skills workshop – open to anyone who has attended a TP/AG (Level 2) course\, or Guides maintaining currency. Current Qual not required. This is a self driven workshop where we will cover what you need to work on toward your quals\, or what you want to practise/review. \n\n\n\nA great way to build your skills towards guide (or your OAS levels). Rescue workshops are also one of the ways you can demonstrate your rescue currency which is required for all guides\, and especially if you are going through requal. If you are a current guide this is also a good way to stop your rescue skills getting rusty. \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring\n\n\n\n\nA Head Torch\n\n\n\nYour Personal Abseil Gear (It is assumed you have your own gear\, if you do not please specify on Scout Event at least 24 hours beforehand)\n\n\n\n\nPlease let me know if you have any topics you specifically want to cover. \n\n\n\nThis year we are asking that all participants register on Scout Event. \n\n\ninvalid event id provided.
