DESCRIPTION:Who:  All invested Joey Scouts (or New Chums registered on ScoutHub).  Unfortunately\, we can cater for only about 150 joeys as we have arranged 8 Activity Bases for the joeys to experience. Due to the numbers onsite\, we cannot allow siblings or other spectators to attend; we will not have any activities for them or supervision. \n\n\n\nHelpers: We will require some helpers on the day\, please discuss with your Joey Leaders.  All helpers will need to be registered as Adult Helpers with a working with Children Check prior and book via OLEMS our online event system. \n\n\n\nEVERYBODY attending must book via OLEMS (Including leaders) Bookings close 30/05/2024. \n\n\n\nThis year our theme is “Wide Games”.  Joeys will be organised into groups of about 20. These groups will then be guided to activity bases and by the end of the day they should have attended each activity base. Opening Parade 09:00 am Closing Parade 15:00 \n\n\n\nWhat to Wear: \n\n\n\nJoeys & leaders to wear uniform : we ask that Adult Helpers wear a group scarf. \n\n\n\nClosed\, comfortable shoes. No sandals\, crocks or thongs. \n\n\n\nHat and sunscreen. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring:  \n\n\n\nPacked picnic lunch \n\n\n\nSnacks\, morning tea \n\n\n\nDrink/water bottle.   \n\n\n\nSunscreen \n\n\n\nJoeys will be returned to their mobs to have lunch. SUMMARY:Safe Participant Abseil Course - Practical Day (ABS24C)
DESCRIPTION:This is the base-level course for participation in rockcraft activities and is required for vertical canyoning and caving. Attending this workshop will give you a great grounding for rock adventures and you can even earn you Stage 4 OAS Abseiling (However you must abseil on at least one other occasion before or after the course to complete the OAS requirements). \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components (prussiking\, knots\, setting up abseil devices\, care of equipment). \n\n\n\nThe theory night registration is combined with the prac day for the same course number\, you do not need to register separately.  \n\n\n\nThe practical day is held at Wahroonga Rocks. Participants aim to complete 15 abseils on a variety of abseil devices as well as practising belaying skills\, and prussiking. SUMMARY:Garigal / Northern Beaches Scout Personal Development Course
