DESCRIPTION:Monthly Rockcraft Skills workshop – open to anyone who has attended a TP/AG (Level 2) course\, or Guides maintaining currency. Current Qual not required. This is a self driven workshop where we will cover what you need to work on toward your quals\, or what you want to practise/review. \n\n\n\nA great way to build your skills towards guide (or your OAS levels). Rescue workshops are also one of the ways you can demonstrate your rescue currency which is required for all guides\, and especially if you are going through requal. DESCRIPTION:This is the base-level course for participation in rockcraft activities and is required for vertical canyoning and caving. Attending this workshop will give you a great grounding for rock adventures and you can even earn you Stage 4 OAS Abseiling (However you must abseil on at least one other occasion before or after the course to complete the OAS requirements). \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components (prussiking\, knots\, setting up abseil devices\, care of equipment). \n\n\n\nThe theory night registration is combined with the prac day for the same course number\, you do not need to register separately. \n\n\n\nThe practical day is held at Wahroonga Rocks. Participants aim to complete 15 abseils on a variety of abseil devices as well as practising belaying skills\, and prussiking. The course includes a separate theory night at Barra Brui Scout Hall. \n\n\n\nRecommended Pre-reading:\n\n\n\n\nKnots (SP Section Only)\n\n\n\n\nDigital copies will be provided prior to the course. \n\n\ninvalid event id provided.

DESCRIPTION:The annual JOTA/JOTI Scout Camp will be held at Terrey Hills Public School. Registration is through the Scout Event Registration system (linked below) and the cost is $65 per youth member. Leaders are free. Scouts will camp with their Units and be self-sufficient over the weekend. Scouts will bring their own food\, tents\, camping equipment and will need to take their rubbish with them. There will be a number of on-site (JOTI\, electronics and free time) and off-site activities (visits to the Manly Warringah Radio Club and canoeing on Narrabeen Lake) Scouts and Leaders will walk together to the radio base in Belton Ave. Scouts and Leaders will get a hired bus to Narrabeen Lakes. Attending this workshop will give you a great grounding for rock adventures and you can even earn you Stage 4 OAS Abseiling (However you must abseil on at least one other occasion before or after the course to complete the OAS requirements). \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components (prussiking\, knots\, setting up abseil devices\, care of equipment). \n\n\n\nThe theory night registration is combined with the prac day for the same course number\, you do not need to register separately.  \n\n\n\nThe practical day is held at Wahroonga Rocks. Participants aim to complete 15 abseils on a variety of abseil devices as well as practising belaying skills\, and prussiking. DESCRIPTION:Monthly Rockcraft Skills workshop – open to anyone who has attended a TP/AG (Level 2) course\, or Guides maintaining currency. Current Qual not required. This is a self driven workshop where we will cover what you need to work on toward your quals\, or what you want to practise/review. \n\n\n\nA great way to build your skills towards guide (or your OAS levels). Rescue workshops are also one of the ways you can demonstrate your rescue currency which is required for all guides\, and especially if you are going through requal.
