SUMMARY:Express Abseil Rigging & Rescue Course - Residential Weekend
DESCRIPTION:This is an express version of our normal Rigging & Rescue course which will consist of two online theory nights. Significant pre-reading\, and an intensive weekend. The training sessions will start on the Friday evening. \n\n\n\nIf you want to build on your skills and work towards being able to take other people out abseiling then this is the workshop for you. Learn how to set up abseils\, rig for rescue and get yourself or others out of difficulty. This course aims to get you through the Trained Participant and Assistant Guide levels of the VET qualifications and can also be used to gain OAS qualifications. \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components. There are two theory nights and a practical weekend. \n\n\n\nThe theory night(s) registration is combined with the practical day for the same course number\, you do not need to register separately. \n\n\n\nSaturday is at Barra Brui and Sunday at Lindfield Rocks \n\n\n\n\ninvalid event id provided.

SUMMARY:Safe Participant Abseil Course - Theory Night (ABS25E)
DESCRIPTION:This is the base-level course for participation in rockcraft activities and is required for vertical canyoning and caving. Attending this workshop will give you a great grounding for rock adventures and you can even earn you Stage 4 OAS Abseiling (However you must abseil on at least one other occasion before or after the course to complete the OAS requirements). \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components (prussiking\, knots\, setting up abseil devices\, care of equipment). \n\n\n\nThe theory night registration is combined with the prac day for the same course number\, you do not need to register separately. \n\n\n\nThe practical day is held at Wahroonga Rocks. Participants aim to complete 15 abseils on a variety of abseil devices as well as practising belaying skills\, and prussiking. The course includes a separate theory night at Barra Brui Scout Hall. \n\n\n\nRecommended Pre-reading:\n\n\n\n\nKnots (SP Section Only)\n\n\n\n\nDigital copies will be provided prior to the course. \n\n\ninvalid event id provided.

SUMMARY:JOTA / JOTI camp
DESCRIPTION:The annual JOTA/JOTI Scout Camp will be held at Terrey Hills Public School. Registration is through the Scout Event Registration system (linked below) and the cost is $65 per youth member. Leaders are free. Scouts will camp with their Units and be self-sufficient over the weekend. Scouts will bring their own food\, tents\, camping equipment and will need to take their rubbish with them. There will be a number of on-site (JOTI\, electronics and free time) and off-site activities (visits to the Manly Warringah Radio Club and canoeing on Narrabeen Lake) Scouts and Leaders will walk together to the radio base in Belton Ave. Scouts and Leaders will get a hired bus to Narrabeen Lakes.
