DESCRIPTION:Please Note new date due to expected heavy rainfall. \n\n\n\n This is a district Cub campfire for the Benowie groups. \n\n\n\nCubs are invited to the Benowie District Cub Scout Campfire on Friday 5th April 2024 at Baden-Powell Activity Centre\, Pomona St\, Pennant Hills. \n\n\n\nIt is a great opportunity for Benowie District Cubs to meet Cubs from other units and enjoy a campfire together with songs and maybe a  few marshmallows. \n\n\n\nPlease arrive at 6.45pm so we can get organise to start at 7pm at the campfire circle. The campfire finishes at 8.30pm. Cubs\, leaders\, adult helpers and parents/carers are welcome to come along. \n\n\n\nCubs wear their uniform shirt and scarf and bring a warm jumper\, head torch\, full water bottle\, and plastic sheet or blanket to sit on (no chairs allowed). Please eat dinner before the event. \n\n\n\nEveryone attending must register for the event. DESCRIPTION:Monthly Rockcraft Skills workshop – open to anyone who has attended a TP/AG (Level 2) course\, or Guides maintaining currency. Current Qual not required. This is a self driven workshop where we will cover what you need to work on toward your quals\, or what you want to practise/review. \n\n\n\nA great way to build your skills towards guide (or your OAS levels). Rescue workshops are also one of the ways you can demonstrate your rescue currency which is required for all guides\, and especially if you are going through requal. SUMMARY:Safe Participant Abseil Course - Practical Day (ABS24A)
DESCRIPTION:This is the base-level course for participation in rockcraft activities and is required for vertical canyoning and caving. Attending this workshop will give you a great grounding for rock adventures and you can even earn you Stage 4 OAS Abseiling (However you must abseil on at least one other occasion before or after the course to complete the OAS requirements). \n\n\n\nThe course is suitable for Venturers\, Rovers\, and Leaders. \n\n\n\nThe theory night is held at Barra Brui Scout Hall and includes a mix of theory presentations and practical components (prussiking\, knots\, setting up abseil devices\, care of equipment). \n\n\n\nThe theory night registration is combined with the prac day for the same course number\, you do not need to register separately.  \n\n\n\nThe practical day is held at Wahroonga Rocks. Participants aim to complete 15 abseils on a variety of abseil devices as well as practising belaying skills\, and prussiking. SUMMARY:Garigal / Northern Beaches Scout Personal Development Course
DESCRIPTION:The Garigal / Nthn Beaches Scout Personal Development Course will be held at Belrose Scout Hall on May 18 & 19. \n\n\n\nScouts will arrive in full uniform from 1.30pm on the Saturday for a 2pm start. \n\n\n\nSessions will be held in and outside the Hall. \n\n\n\nIt will be an overnight course so Scouts need to bring all that is necessary for an overnight camp. \n\n\n\nTent\, mat\, sleeping bag\, eating utensils\, toiletries\, pillow\, notepad\, pen etc. \n\n\n\nCost will be $50 per head \n\n\n\nSpecial dietary requirements are to be sent to Paul Soltau  paul.soltau@nsw.scouts.com.au \n\n\n\nThe course will finish at 3pm on Sunday May 19 \n\n\n\nAny questions / comments to Tom Miles  tom.miles@nsw.scouts.com.au \n\n\n\n\n\n\ninvalid event id provided.
