DESCRIPTION:Scouts Australia is sending a Contingent to the 16th Aotearoa / New Zealand Jamboree in December 2025 – January 2026. \n\n\n\nAttending a New Zealand Venture is an outstanding introduction to International Scouting. Set in one of the most picturesque countries on the planet\, Australian Scouts will be offered a program of outdoor adventure and cultural immersion that will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience. \n\n\n\nDates \n\n\n\nThe Australian Contingent will depart on 28 December 2025 and return to Australia on 10 January 2026. An optional post-tour featuring a selection of thrill-seeking and cultural activities will also be offered to Australian Contingent members\, returning to Australia on 15 January 2026.   \n\n\n\nLocation \n\n\n\nPhase One includes a choice of Expeditions stretching from the upper South Island to the middle of the North Island. Phase Two will be held at the Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre\, one hour from Wellington.  \n\n\n\nApplications \n\n\n\nOfficial applications to join the Australian Contingent to the 16th Aotearoa / New Zealand Venture will open on 8 January 2025 and close on 23 February 2025. Applications may close earlier if the size of the Australian Contingent exceeds the number of places available at the Venture.    \n\n\n\nIn the meantime\, you can submit an Expression of Interest and we will send you a reminder when official applications are about to open.   \n\n\n\nVenturer Scout and line leader applicants will need to nominate their top three Expedition preferences upon application. Expedition places will be allocated in the order that applications are submitted with deposit paid. To secure your preferred Expedition\, applicants are encouraged to submit their application and pay the deposit as soon as possible after applications open on 8 January 2025. SUMMARY:Region Personal Development Course For Cubs
DESCRIPTION:The Cub Scout personal development course offers interested Cub Scouts an opportunity to meet new people and develop their own communication\, teamwork and leadership skills.  \n\n\n\nThis course is designed for youth members who are aged 10 years old.  \n\n\n\nWe will be completing various activities which some might be done outside. Please come prepared to be outside\, potentially in the weather and bring a day pack with items you would need for the day which should include a hat\, snacks and water bottle. DESCRIPTION:This is a District Cub campfire for Benowie Cub units. \n\n\n\nCubs are invited to the Benowie District Cub Scout Campfire on Friday 4th April 2025 at Baden-Powell Activity Centre\, Pomona St\, Pennant Hills. \n\n\n\nIt is a great opportunity for Benowie District Cubs to meet Cubs from other units and enjoy a campfire together with songs and maybe a  few marshmallows. \n\n\n\nPlease arrive at 6.45pm so we can get organise to start at 7pm at the campfire circle. The campfire finishes at 8.30pm. DESCRIPTION:The North Harbour Scout Water Base (NHSWB) team will run 3 sessions of canoeing instruction and paddling activity specifically for joey scouts on Saturday 5 April 2025. Each joey MUST be accompanied by an adult parent/carer (1 per family sufficient) to be present for entire session and 1 adult (booked as leader or adult helper) will be required to accompany 2 joeys in each canoe. \n\n\n\nThere will be 3 sessions on the day\, with a maximum 24 joeys each. There is also a minimum 12 joeys required for each session. If insufficient number of joeys register for any session\, that session will be cancelled. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. \n\n\n\nThe paddling skills program will run for about 2 hours\, including 1 hour on the water. This will enable youth members to be signed off on most\, if not all\, items required for OAS Paddling Skills – Stage 1. DESCRIPTION:The North Harbour Scout Water Base (NHSWB) team will run 3 sessions of canoeing instruction and paddling activity specifically for joey scouts on Saturday 5 April 2025. Each joey MUST be accompanied by an adult parent/carer (1 per family sufficient) to be present for entire session and 1 adult (booked as leader or adult helper) will be required to accompany 2 joeys in each canoe. \n\n\n\nThere will be 3 sessions on the day\, with a maximum 24 joeys each. There is also a minimum 12 joeys required for each session. If insufficient number of joeys register for any session\, that session will be cancelled. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. \n\n\n\nThe paddling skills program will run for about 2 hours\, including 1 hour on the water. This will enable youth members to be signed off on most\, if not all\, items required for OAS Paddling Skills – Stage 1.
