DESCRIPTION:The Cub Scout Canoe activity day is aimed at achieving the technical components of OAS Padding Stage 1\, although it does cover parts of Stage 2. BYO Morning tea and lunch. Each Cub scout that participants earn a fellowship camp blanket badge.  \n\n\n\nParticipants must be able to swim 50 metres.  \n\n\n\nIt is preferable for participants to supply canoes\, paddles and lifejackets\, however canoes can be provided on request prior to the weekend.

DESCRIPTION:This is a full canoe course weekend (1st weekend) followed by a canoe journey weekend (2nd Weekend). This course will allow you to learn your paddling skills\, deep water skills along with basic water rescue skills on the first weekend. SUMMARY:Joey Scouts Paddling Stage 1 Skills
DESCRIPTION:3 Sessions available to book\, the link is below to our new booking system & find the 23/11/2024. Please Please make sure you book the correct session. \n\n\n\nSession 1 – 8:30 AM \n\n\n\nSession 2 – 11 AM  \n\n\n\nSession 3 1:30 PM \n\n\n\nSydney North Region | Scout Event (scouts.com.au) \n\n\n\nJoey scouts will receive instruction in paddling skills & safety and participate in a short canoeing trip (approximately 1 hour). The North Harbour Scout Water Base (NHSWB) team will cover the canoeing aspects of OAS Paddling Stage 1; joeys will have the opportunity to demonstrate basic water safety skills and so qualify fully for Paddling Stage 1. There will be 3 sessions throughout the day; each 1.5 to 2 hours duration. Attendees are limited to a maximum of 30 joeys per session. One adult will be required to accompany 2 joeys in each canoe \n\n\n\nClosed shoes and a hat are mandatory (youth & adults). Shoes and clothing are almost certain to get wet. Bring water\, change of clothing\, towel\, snack (if wanted)
