Suess Moot! And what a Moot it was on the shores of Camp Ku-ring-gai, a stone’s throw up the mighty Hawkesbury River... a weekend of Suess-themed games that made us fell O so young again if we weren’t throwing butter with a ballista, we were thinking up Cat in the Hat pick up lines “One fish, two fist, three fish, blow me”. If that was of no interest to you could have had a brilliant ride down the flying fox that was up ALL weekend much to everyone’s excitement. Can you lick 30 Tigers today? Rovers from far and wide came dressed as things one and two, elephants and a Fox in Socks but thankfully the Grinch who stole Christmas was absent and replaced by hats with cats. A wonderful meal not of green eggs and ham was served by the two Crews on Saturday and followed by a live band and DJ 'til the small hours of Sunday morning. Sunday brought Red Bull girls once again and the breaking of the slippery pole by Brendo (Razorback) but the highlight was by far the Iron Gut that not only included green eggs and ham but was a close race to the end and won by Waz from Blaxland.... and unlike Roventure he DID NOT eat his own vomit. Prizes over the weekend included 20 Imax tickets, Playstation 3 and Bridge Climb vouchers. The weekend was won by Epping Rover Crew by only 5 points! The winners received an ice chest, camp chairs and a large Moot skin hat that will find pride of place in Epping’s den next to the skins from 2004, 2005 and 2008. Keep next March free people - Epping will put on a shindig to rival all. Our striped hats go off to Forest and 1st Mona Vale Rover Crews for producing in a few very short months a most memorable Sydney North Summer Moot (BTW Why is Summer moot in Autumn?) Pete Favelle 1st Epping Rover Crew __________________________________________________________________________ ROVER TREASURERS COURSE Once again Sydney North will be holding a free Rover Treasurers' course to help new Crew Treasurers ease into the role and learn from others who have done it before and trade ideas with other new chums.
