International Travel

< Back to International Scouting
There are many opportunities to travel overseas with Scouting.  Youth members and Leaders can travel in a number of ways:
  • Join a Scouts Australia Contingent: Scouts Australia managed expeditions normally go to major events, such as the World Scout Jamboree and the New Zealand Venture. Contingents also go on adventures such as climbing BP Peak in Nepal or visiting the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland.
  • Organise your own trip: there are tools and support available for members wanting to organise and manage their own overseas expeditions or independent travel.
  • Work or volunteer: take some time out to work or volunteer at a Scout Centre overseas. Work often includes activity guiding, welcoming guests and assisting with running campsites.
  • Scout International Student Exchange Programme: go to school and Scouts overseas. Live with a family in the UK, Japan or Denmark.  Our programme for Venturer aged Scouts is very popular!
