Adventurer Level Campcraft Journey

Timetable

Good planning will make your last weeks leading up to journey less rushed as you will have had adequate time to cover the things which need to be done in before hand.

Use the following timetable as a guide – but make your own and include it in your log:

  • Start to plan journey.
  • Discuss journey route, date, and your journey patrol with your Scout Leader.
  • Obtain & study maps and other information about journey route

  • Arrange with DSL for 1st Interview.  If required your DSL will help you contact a qualified "Walk Check Leader"
  • Finalise route and journey date.
  • Obtain Troop Council approval for the journey

  • Invite journey patrol members (from own patrol, troop and/or other troops) and discuss your plans

  • Plan menu with journey patrol members
  • Finalise costs of gear, food, transport, park fees

  • Prepare and distribute Activity Notification forms to: Parents, SL, GL, DSL/RC-S, ZAC, NP&WS, Police etc.
  • Review Journey with Regional approved walk check leader.

  • Review journey route and maps, gear, food, transport arrangements with journey patrol members and SL

  • Check receipt of Approval Forms from GL, parents, authorities etc.

  • Check gear of all members. Arrange to hire/borrow journey gear as necessary.

  •  If required by your DSL arrange with a for 2nd Interview.

  • Purchase food. Collect any hired/borrowed gear

ZERO

  • START JOURNEY

1- 4

  • Submit journey Log to SL for approval
  • SL forwards log to DSL for approval
  • DSL forwards log to RC-S for approval

4- 6

  • Hike Log approved by RC-S.
  • Arrange presentation date of Adventurer Level Cord (subject to other Adventurer Level requirements completed)
  • Notify presentation attendees – troop members, SLs, GL, DC, parents, DSL, RC-S  etc.
