Roventure 2018: Disney

This year’s Roventure saw teams dust off their magic wands, fire up their Death Stars and hoist their colours high as they battled the Huns with Kananga Rover Crew and Belrose Venturers at Sydney North's Disney Roventure 2018!

Over the weekend of the 23rd-25th of February, teams made up of Rovers and Venturers (“Crunits”) gathered at Camp Ku-ring-gai and battled it out in different activities incorporating the old Disney classics and the new action-packed favourites!

The fun didn’t necessarily start on the weekend. This year we shook it up a bit and gave the Rovers opportunities to earn their teams bonus points before the weekend had even started! This was done by implementing operations #getpegged and #getbanned where members of Kananga Rover Crew would peg specially designed pegs and wrap specially designed wristbands around Rovers in the events leading up to Disney Roventure, with Crunits being allocated bonus points for presenting these items upon entry.

On the weekend the competition began with Round Robin activities where each activity was based on a different Disney movie, followed by an epic waterslide and a dip in the river to get some well-deserved relief from the heat. Each Crunit's knowledge of Disney was well and truly put to the test at the trivia night, before letting loose in the dance tent and busting a few moves.

Sunday morning saw teams participate in a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" food challenge and even after the challenge was over we had teams going back for seconds…. and thirds…. and fourths….. There were also bonus points up for grabs in the Hidden Mickey Challenge, for teams who found Mickey Mouse hidden around the camp.

While the Crunit made up of Platabeen Rovers and Venturers and Manly/Fairlight Venturers put up a valiant fight, and even managed to find the biggest Mickey of all, it was the Mona Vale Rovers and Bayview Venturers team who swept the magic carpet out from under them and claimed an undeniable victory.

Kananga Rovers would like to thank the members of Belrose Venturers who came along and helped run an awesome weekend! And congratulations to Mona Vale Rovers and Bayview Venturers, we look forward to your Roventure in 2019 on the 22nd-24th February.
